APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS ARE CURRENTLY [QUEUEING].

Applications are always open and will remain so until the game cap of thirty players has been reached. There is no reserve period. Once the game cap has been reached, applications will form a queue that will be processed as drops open character slots in the game. Apps are processed on a first come, first serve basis with the exception of current players apping secondary characters. Because Station 72 doesn't accept challenge apps, if more than one app is posted for the same character then the first app posted will be fully considered first; any consecutive apps for that character will only be considered if the initial app is declined.

CURRENT PLAYER COUNT:
30/35

CAPPED CANONS:
The 100

To apply, use the form below and submit your application as a link below. DO NOT EDIT APPLICATIONS after posting them. Minor edits (correcting typos, etc) are fine, but large scale rewriting will result in a rejection.

Applications will either result in an acceptance, a revisions request, or a decline. In the case of revisions or declines, we'll do everything in our power to be clear and concise regarding what we'd like to see in your revisions or in your next application. When making revisions, please clearly mark the revisions you've made (highlighting, italicizing, etc).

APPLICATION

GUIDELINES

PLAYER INFO
Name: Your name!
Contact: Your preferred method of contact, be it plurk, PMs or smoke signals.
Are you over 18?: Station 72 may deal with mature themes; as such, all players must be over the age of 18 to play.

CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: The character's full name in western order please!
Canon: If applying with an OC, please put 'Original' in this section.
Canon Point: The point from which you are playing your character from. Something like 'the end of episode 12' or 'During the hot air balloon chase sequence' will do.

Appearance: A brief description of your character's physical appearance. You may include a picture or gif either in addendum or to substitute a written a description.
Age: Your character's age. Reminder that no characters under the age of 12 are appable. If your character appears a different age than they are (ex. they look 18 but are actually 300), note it here.

Setting: A brief overview of the world your character comes from. This section should be enough to give us a general overview of how the character's world works and give us an understanding as to how the environment may have shaped the character. Wikipedia links are acceptable for canon characters if available.
History: What has your character done? What's happened to them? If the setting section details where they live, the history section is to detail how they lived. While you're not required to give us an itemized list, make sure to detail significant events that shaped or effected your character. Wikipedia links are acceptable for canon characters are long as they have more than one paragraph of information. Please try to keep this section to no more than 2000 words.
Personality: The most important section of the application, the personality section is meant to detail how the character thinks, feels and acts. What are their motivations? What inspires them? What are their goals in life? Make sure to provide canon details to support your claims wherever possible. This section should be at LEAST three healthy paragraphs long. Please try to keep this section to no more than 2000 words.

Canon Abilities/Skills: If you character has abilities, skills or powers of note, please list them here. Please make sure to put your character's powers in list form and to clearly explain each. Characters with superhuman abilities or powers that can affect a large area, a large number of individuals, or in general have powers that are typically considered "game breaking" should have suggestions for ability scaling where appropriate. If you have questions or concerns about this section, don't hesitate to contact the mod team for clarification.

ON STATION 72
Symbiote Specialization: Iota or Rho?
Symbiote Ability: Your character gets one specialized symbiotic ability. Please list it here along with three stages of its development - the basic version of the ability, the intermediate version, and the advanced. Each stage should be clearly defined with strengths and drawbacks to each. Remember that other players will eventually be borrowing these powers from your character, so make sure anyone can figure out how it works from the stage description. While you're not required to strengthen the ability at any time, this gives us an idea of your ability expectations should you pursue them.

REMEMBER: Iota-type abilities are things you do with your body (phasing through walls, skin turning into armor, accelerated healing, etc); Rho-type abilities are things done with the mind (telekinesis, stopping time, psychic healing). While there may be some abilities that fall into a grey area, as long as you can make a logical argument for why an ability fits into one type or another you're probably good to go. Further, BE AWARE that host vs. host ability use may have some wonky side effects or be less effective than host vs. non-host usage.

Inventory: Your character may bring anything they have on their person along with them, including dangerous weapons, armor, their favorite plant, their pet snake, etc. Characters must be capable of carrying the object (so no cars, no ponies, no giant robots, etc) and actively holding/wearing/in possession of it at the time of their rescue.

SAMPLES
Sample Thread: ONE sample thread with at least six tags from you. Additional samples are welcome! Samples from any source (test drives, memes, personal museboxes, other games) are acceptable are long as they're less than a year old. Ideally, we're looking for a good combination of dialogue and introspection.

Rescue Write-up:
An in-character writing sample of the events that led your character to be rescued by the hosts of Station 72. This can be as brief or as detailed as you like. For guidance as to how this works, see this section of the FAQ.
